From a young age, I have always been musically inclined and interested in performing in front of a crowd. At the age of Six, I started piano lessons and continued until I was Eleven. I was always performing for my parents, family and friends and would make them sit down and watch the shows that I had created in my living room with my sister. I would even take part in school productions from the age of Seven in primary school and loved going to Music Club that took part after school on Thursdays. I was part of the recorder club and the 'Young Gospel Choir'. I was music mad!. My Passion for Music and singing first started in Primary school and has always stuck with me.
I was given a scholarship for vocal lessons when I was in year Seven and continued the singing lessons up until year Eleven. In the year 2011, I won a "Jack Petchey" award for my enthusiasm and dedication towards the music department at my school, as well as winning other music-related awards for outstanding efforts within the performance faculty. In addition to this, I was also an active member of my secondary school 'Gospel Choir', and regularly helped out in the music department during lunch times, and after school with revision clubs and music clubs. I also held the leading role in the musical “Hairspray and loved every second of it!
Being part of the secondary school 'Gospel Choir', allowed me to perform annually at the Royal Festival Hall to thousands of people and I was lucky enough to duet with BBC 1’s - The Voice Semi finalist - 'Jazz Ellington' in 2013.
In 2010 I joined a performing arts school ‘The Centre Stage of Performing Arts' and was a regular singer at their cabaret evenings that would take place throughout the year. At their annual Oscar award ceremony, I was awarded “Voice of the Future” which was awarded by David and Carrie Grant - (professional singing teachers/coaches). Throughout my time there, I had taken part in many festivals including; The Festival of plays, Cabaret evenings, Charity events and Summer festivals, as well as two musicals. - (‘Our house’ and ‘Grease’). In 2012, I was part of the closing ceremony of the ‘Paralympic Games'.
I was a backing vocalist for Jazz Ellington in the Semifinals of the voice (the first ever series) and I also have worked with “WILL.I.AM” on his track - “Reach for the stars” which was the first ever song to be beamed from mars.
From leaving Secondary school, I continued my musical aspirations and furthered my knowledge at the “Hertfordshire College of Music”. I studied Music here for two years and I gained a Level 3 Extended Diploma In being a ‘Music Practitioner’ and completed my 'Grade Eight' live performance vocal exam with a Distinction. I was involved and Played in several bands during my time at college and was the front of an Acoustic Duo known as “Blue Lane’. In the acoustic duo, I had played many festivals, charity events, weddings and pub gigs in the course of this period, and loved performing to various crowds throughout the years. I would often play at the “Live Lounge sessions’ that the college put on one Thursday a month down at the local pub and would pride myself on competing in local singing and talent competitions. I had even won “The voice of Ware” in 2018.
I loved spending my time down at the local Youth Centres and would also volunteer as a young leader. I would help run some of the local music projects for the local council there (‘Everyone Loves Music’ and ‘The Red Room Project”) I loved seeing the happiness on other peoples’ faces when they opened themselves up to what music can do for them.
After leaving and completing college in 2014, I then went on to University in London to study Music again. During my time at ‘The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance”, I worked with several industry professionals who helped push my vocal ability and assisted with my stage confidence. I learnt a lot during my time at Uni, and after three years, I completed my BA Honours In Creative Musicianship.
Over the years, I have done session work in the studio for a few of my musical companions, and have worked and played as a ‘step-in’ session vocalist in various bands.
After having a break from Performing live due to the Global Pandemic of the Corona Virus, I took some time out and focused my time on writing music and learning a huge catalogue of songs. Throughout this time I also started a family, and I now have the most amazing little man who is my world and he loves watching me sing… He even sings along too!
Music has been my whole life and I would be nothing without it.
Now I'm back to singing live in front of crowds again and I am taking bookings for 23/24. I am also working on realising my own music to the world soon so stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled!
